In an instant most people out there take a quick glance at one another and making snap judgments that pretty much give us all we have to know about someone else though as the saying goes, don’t judge a book by its cover, but if we understand better or not. Even if you do not admit it or understand it, your subconscious is doing it all the time, with everybody and everything you come into contact with on a daily basis; it might not be the best thing to do, but it’s human nature.
Especially in a world where everything we come into contact with in real life is influenced by what we observe on TV, our standards are high, even if we do not exactly see it that way; judging and comparing people to these expectations all the time. Even if you watch anything as basic as the news, you’re still seeing individuals dressed in nice clothes, with neat hair and white glistening teeth, and because of this, it raises the expectations of what we deem as acceptable and appropriate in society.
In assorted situations it does motivate us to be more self aware, to put our best foot forward, and to put effort into appearing our best for others, even if they may be perfect strangers, just because subconsciously, we realize what our own expectations are, and we project them on the individuals around all of us even though it’s not all a terrible thing. That is why, in some situations, individuals even result to cosmetic means to change their look, not just for themselves, but to create an impressive image for the world around them to see, and to give them value.
Whether you’ve thought about dying your hair, or looked into Sherman Oaks teeth whitening, we all battle with our own self-image, but it is not totally a horrible thing, and we do it because of our need to fit in, and to warrant acceptance from the individuals around us. All of us seek a great smile or the shiniest , fullest head of hair, and to some people that’s more valuable than most anything else out there, but it also makes them proud to know that all of the time they put into their appearance doesn’t go unnoticed.
Whether you comprehend it or not, all of us put on a show, but the world’s a popularity contest, and to get ahead, you do what you have to, and sometimes that means putting a little extra effort into your looks, but it’s worth it in the end.
